A Song To The World

What shall I sing to the world
That will fathom the depths of its grieving?
Faith is my song to the world,
The believer is saved by believing.

What shall I sing to the world
That will lighten the load of its caring ?
Hope is my song to the world,
The spirit is raised by its daring.

What shall I sing to the world
That will open the flood-gates of living?
Love is my song to the world
The giver is saved by the giving.

This is my song to the world
As a lark I have set it winging,
Though the world be not saved by a song,
The singer is saved by the singing.
