Common Slop Multiple Access with Cow Detect

E.I.E.I.O. specifies the spacing and number of pigs in a single trough. Pigs must be spaced no closer than 2.55 meters, with a maximum of 100 pigs and a total trough length of 500 meters.

All pigs contend for feed access by adhering to CSMA/CD (Common Slop Multiple Access with Cow Detect). With CSMA/CD pigs contend for access to the feed. If a cow is detected the pig waits a random amount of time before attempting access again, thus assuring access to all pigs.
